Homeowners Insurance
Our standard home insurance policy covers your home, other structures, personal property, and more.
New Home
Provides a discount for newer properties that have been built to stronger building standards, with the most significant savings applying to properties built to the current building code.
Retiree
Provides a discount to primary residents who are 55 or older and retired.
Superior Construction
Earn an automatic discount if the exterior walls, floors, and roof of your property were built with noncombustible materials.
Secure Community
Offers discounts to properties located in communities that are gated, guarded or have perimeter walls restricting other access.
Burglar and Fire Alarm
Provides a discount when the property is protected by burglar and fire alarms. A higher discount applies when the alarm is monitored by an alarm company.
Building Code Effectiveness Grades
Discounts apply if your property is located in a community that participates in the BCEG program, and was constructed after the community joined the program.
Lightning Surge Protection
A discount is available if you have a qualified, certified lightning protection system installed in your property.
Wind Mitigation
Provides credits for properties that have been built or updated to meet stronger building codes, such as the installation of approved storm shutters. A wind mitigation inspection may be required.
Hip Roof
Provides a discount for structures that have a roof shape where the ends and sides of the roof slope down to the wall.
Fire Sprinkler Systems
Provides additional credits if fire sprinklers are installed throughout the property.
Deductibles
Your choice of a higher deductible, the amount of money you are responsible for paying in the event of a claim, will reduce the price of your property insurance.
Windstorm Loss Mitigation Discounts
Your policy may be eligible for a premium credit for Windstorm Loss Mitigation features if it covers losses due to Windstorm or Hail.
In order to determine eligibility, an inspection of your home and completion of the Florida Uniform Mitigation Verification Inspection Form by either a registered or licensed certified building inspector or General Contractor is required.
The inspection will verify the presence of opening protection and wind mitigation features that may save your money on your insurance policy.
Your premium already includes a credit for a building code update if your home was built in 2002 or newer.
If your home is older, or if you have additional wind mitigation features, obtaining the Florida Uniform Mitigation Verification Inspection Form may be beneficial and result in premium savings.
The inspector or General Contractor will look at the following items to determine eligibility:
Roof Covering – meets Florida Building Code standards or not
Roof Deck Attachment – spacing of nails when attaching the roof
Roof to Wall Connection – type of connector used to attach the roof, i.e. toe nails, clips
Opening Protection - i.e. windows, sliding glass doors, garage doors
Secondary Water Resistance (SWR) – layer of protection that protects the building if the roof covering fails
Roof Shape - i.e. gable, hip
